About us

Your hosts, Annie and Steve, both have backgrounds in hotels, leisure and catering.  They are always available to help you in any way they can to ensure you have an enjoyable stay with them.

Cliff House stands at the end of the old Roman road, which traversed the cliffs between Charmouth and Lyme Regis, rejoicing in stunning views of Lyme Bay, and a large section of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. Although there are sea views from your bed and breakfast accommodation, we encourage guests to take advantage of our elevated garden seating areas and enjoy the clean, fresh Atlantic air!

The house is well situated for fossil hunting on the beach, and we are only 2.5 miles from Lyme Regis (to the west), with Bridport, West Bay and Burton Bradstock within easy car or bus access (to the east), and with the South West Coast Path nearby you will not need to travel far to enjoy some of the most sought after spots in Dorset. Being almost on the Dorset/Devon border, staying here with us  means we are really only minutes away from places such as River Cottage, for their cookery lessons and delicious foodie nights out!

Free parking is always available, and we can offer you garaging for bicycles, motorbikes, surf boards and your fossil bounty!

…Not to forget the garden! Lots of grassed areas to enjoy, including a small wildflower meadow which during the course of the year has primroses, cowslips, daffodils, bluebells, pyramidal orchids, wild oregano and plenty more…even glow worms! A new orchard and herbaceous area, to provide extra forage for not only the honey bees and butterflies but all pollinators. Many birds including kestrels, owls, pheasants, masses of song birds and of course one or two seagulls, usually making their way to the Cobb at Lyme Regis!
